I grew up on a family farm where we fixed anything that broke ourselves, and pouring and patching barn floors is how I first got to know concrete. A barn floor teaches you fast that what's underneath decides how long the top lasts. I spent years after that on other people's crews before I started Slabworks Epoxy Floors of Waxahachie here in Waxahachie in 2013.
Today we're a flooring contractor in Waxahachie doing coatings, polished concrete and the prep work underneath them. Homeowners call us about garages, patios, basements and pool decks. Most floor failures I've seen started under the coating, not in it. So I'd rather spend extra time on prep and on explaining than watch your floor peel up later. I want you to understand your own floor and why we do each step, the same way you'd want to know why a tractor part needs replacing before anyone picks up a wrench.
These are the things I'd want from a flooring contractor if it were my slab. They come down to seeing the floor in person, getting the base right and being honest about fit.
I come out in person to see your slab and go over your choices in plain words. That way you pick a finish that suits the concrete you have, not just a color you liked in a photo. I'll point out cracks, old coatings or damp spots and tell you what each one means for the job.
A new floor holds only as well as the concrete under it, so most of our effort goes into getting the slab clean, sound and ready before any coating goes down. Putting a good finish on a bad base is like bolting a new part to a cracked frame. It looks fine until it doesn't.
If your slab isn't a good fit for the floor you have in mind, we'll tell you up front, even when that means a smaller job for us. You'll hear what that floor can and can't do on your concrete, and what would work better, before you spend anything.

I come out myself, look at the concrete and go over your options. The estimate is free, done in person and comes with no obligation. Price and schedule mostly turn on the floor's size, its condition, any old coating to remove and the finish you choose.
While we plan, we check with your city's permit office and handle any permit the job calls for. Then our crew does the prep and the install, and I'm on the job with them. We're licensed and fully insured.
